It's Mother's Day. For the first time since I became a mother, none of my children are home to celebrate with me. I did have hubby around though. Thank goodness. They are all either working or in University. Talk about the Empty Nest syndrome. This is it! I also did not get to celebrate with my own mum this year. But I am glad that my younger brother and his family celebrated with her. As for me, my kids all remembered to wish me, through Facebook, watsapp and also their calls. This means a lot to me, distance makes the heart grow fonder. So I look forward to next month when my youngest will be home for her holidays, then my son in July and we will be off to Singapore for my eldest girl's convocation.
Yes, I look forward to us being a whole family again. I guess, for most of us, when the kids are around, everyday is Mother's Day. Though I have been working all my life, I look forward to a few days off to spend with the family especially when the kids are home. A Mother's work is never done, so I shall end with this beautiful poem on Mothers:
Mothers are special poeple.
If not for them, we would not be here!
Mothers do everything for us,
Mothers are everything to us when we were growing up.
Mothers cook, wash, teach and take care of us, in sickness and in good health.
Mum, I salute you for your love, care, endurance in good times and bad,
Thank you for all you have done and continue to do,
Keep us safe in your prayers and thoughts as we do the same.
Remember to treat your mum as you yourself want to be treated when you are old.
Thank you mum for always being there and May God Bless all Mothers everywhere especially mine. :)
